Raw, occasionally harsh film with some intense shots. A good story, bordering on the unlikely. Nevertheless, a strong film with a cast that was virtually unknown to me and who, in my opinion, did quite well. On to part two and the series.

I sometimes fancied Rolf Lassgard and I rarely regret that. Fine Swedish actor indeed and one who is also well expressed here in this diptych. It is immediately noticeable that different laws apply in the remote (quirky) countryside than in the large (interfering) cities such as Stockholm or Malmö.

Erik Bäckström experiences it firsthand when he returns to his roots and family/friends from the village. We know us and everyone turns a blind eye to each other. Corruption is rampant and the local machos are in charge and have no regard for any authoritarian authority.

Raw indeed and quite an uncomfortable scene for animal lovers here and there. But very atmospheric. The film eventually goes off the rails somewhat and resembles an outlaw gang like you see in an average Steven Seagal film. It was nice to see Helena Bergström again, although it was less intense than in Under Solen (Film, 1998).

excellent and exciting film.

a very raw one.

beautiful images of Swedish nature.

It seems that different laws apply in rural areas, and much is turned a blind eye by the local population and the police.

In other words, a lot of corruption in that town

gonna watch part 2 soon
