"The jubilant story of George Gershwin."

This film follows the life of the famous composer George Gershwin. How he evolved from a small Manhattan artist into one of the biggest stars. As his fame and work grows, he no longer finds time for romance. His two friends, musical cabaret star Julie Adams and socialist Christine Gilbert, realize that they will always come second.
