The Return of the Living Dead plot
"They're Back From The Grave and Ready To Party!"
When the new hire asks his boss at a local medical warehouse what is the strangest thing he's ever seen, his boss says a living dead trapped in a steel barrel. Of course the boss shows that barrel to the new employee, after which the boss proves how strong the barrel is with a striking blow to the barrel. Unfortunately, the barrel is no longer 100% and it bursts and a poisonous vapor spreads through the air ducts where the dead come to life with only one dish on their menu: 'Brains!'

An oldie in the genre.
And one that has never been bored. Excellent build-up of tension, a good dark atmosphere and a good portion of gore. Although in the meantime dated that head of that female zombie, which was tied up, and where that head looked like a robot in terms of movements eg . Despite that, great movie.

The cult classic.
I have to say that I hardly realized that this movie was a classic at all. It's all just a little bigger and less serious than the general zombie movie we can expect from the 1980s, but is it a better movie with it? That is of course questionable, but I didn't enjoy it much anyway.
Annoying characters take in the film, each of which fortunately has its own personality. Everyone is disturbed and annoying in their own way, so that ensures that the film remains consistently entertaining. The general environment is also nicely decorated with a lot of rain, mud and thunder. It's pretty good fodder for a movie like this.
Have to say that sometimes I could see the fun in it, but the fun in its entirety breaks through far too little. I can easily point the finger at O'Bannon, who seems to have no idea what to do. The camera work in particular is extremely ugly. It flies in every direction but never manages to properly frame just a single image. Also the special effects.. I can't see the talent in it. Found it all easy and not very creative.
After some time, the jokes repeatedly drop dead and the finale can be called downright dull for a film that takes so long to put itself on the map. Movies like this easily get caught up in my world of oblivion while they aim to remain memorable. It just doesn't come in. Any attempt at fun, comedy, or graphic horror is never portrayed calmly or normally, making it very rare to enter. Unfortunately.

Pure 80's Cult Zombie Flick with a Big Dose of Humor!!!
What a wonderful batch of dry humor and beautiful typical 80's acting. The zombies look good and there are even special zombies here and there.
The story is very simple and it works! The zombies are intelligent, talk and even trap people according to a plan. This makes this film quite unique and stylish.
There are few films with such a strong 80's vibe!
Good gore but I would have liked a little more but this is fully compensated by other strong points. Definitely one of the most interesting zombie flicks!
