"A New Evil Awakens."
Somewhere in the Far East, father and son O'Connell find the mausoleum of a certain Emperor Han. The mausoleum appears to contain the mummified body of the emperor. But the grave is revealed to hold secrets after both investigators discover that Han was cursed.

Stephen Sommers' The Mummy resembled a new Indiana Jones in many ways. So if Indiana Jones has a Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, then The Mummy should get a similar part. And then there's the third part; Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. It was clear that The Mummy Returns has lost quite a bit of quality, but apparently it could be a lot worse. Not that Sommers is a great director, but what Mr Rob Cohen is doing here is not good. The action, the humor, the look, the timing; it's all incredibly boring. Little is left of the characters who return and there is a lot of focus on the sleep-inducing love story between that son and his girlfriend. This Mummy 3 is seemingly the shortest film in the trilogy, but feels the longest in everything. The characters in the movie may be sighing that she has another tough mission to tackle, but I suspect sitting this movie out is harder than defeating some demonic mummy.
