Evelyn Nesbit spends a lot of time in nightclubs and goes out with rich and famous (married) men. One day she meets the rich, famous and married middle-aged architect Sanford White. She goes with him to her mother's apartment, who has left for Pittsburgh for a while. Evelyn regularly receives Sanford there, until she meets the young, spoiled and wealthy Harry Thaw. Then her mother returns.
