Sexy Jennifer (Claire Forlani) and attractive Ryan (Freddie Prinze Jr.) run into each other everywhere. From primary school to university. They're definitely polar opposites: Jennifer's licentious lifestyle is at odds with Ryan's, but like two magnets, they keep pulling together. Better than your average college comedy, courtesy of Claire Forlani, not a classic beauty but a much better actress than most figures in similar films. Freddie Prinze Jr., Jason Biggs and Amanda Detmer are also in good shape.
The story isn't much. The choreography of the disco dance scene, on the other hand, was a lot of fun... until they started spraying with milk (?).
After all, the film has the advantage that it was shot in San Francisco, in my humble opinion one of the most beautiful and fun cities in the world.

Boys and Girls
This really is one of those teen comedy that neatly colors within the lines and every cliché is neatly crossed out. The film should therefore not rely on the original story, but more on the elaboration. Unfortunately, the elaboration at Boys and Girls is not an unqualified success.
Claire Forlani is a shining centerpiece and makes some of her role. Unfortunately Freddie is a bit of a dead person and sometimes walks around like a zombie. There is hardly any chemistry between the two. Biggs is supposed to play the funny side-kick but he doesn't want to be really funny with his colored hair and weird features. Amanda Detmer is slightly better but she also has to speak a lot of nonsense. San Francisco is beautifully portrayed and the music is also good. Boys and Girls follow the fixed rom-com pattern and this does not yield an original or interesting view. And if the actors also have little chemistry together, you get a film that never rises above the gray mediocrity and you are quickly forgotten.

I couldn't keep my attention on this movie. I thought it was a very boring movie. The dialogues really don't make sense. It is as if a film had to be made in too short a period of time and it is therefore rushed in all areas.
