Cassandra's Dream plot
"Family is family. Blood is blood."
A London working-class neighbourhood, today. Two brothers, one an inveterate gambler, the other a desperate wannabe businessman, are in dire need of money. Lots of cents. When their uncle - who made his fortune in America - offers to help them, the future suddenly looks a lot brighter. They only get money if they do him a rather special 'service'. The brothers react very differently to the request and gradually grow apart.

Not bad, with an interesting casting of the brothers (because I would have expected both actors in the role of the other) and a great Tom Wilkinson, but without immediately asking for the camera work or the editing of a Paul Greengrass was a a slightly more intense style of filming would have been appropriate, even if that is absolutely not "des Woody Allens". Nevertheless, quite strong and intriguing.

A strong Allen in its simplicity.
As a comedy, this doesn't work. Don't expect much action or crime. In that regard, it's all very nice. But as a drama it is very strong. The struggle of the 2 gentlemen feels real and pure, helped by the desolate London.
The ending won't please everyone, but it was the only real outcome for me.
Very nice video, 3.5*.
