"Jerome Kern Tops "Show Boat" and "Roberta""

Jim Moore (Allan Jones) is a slick insurance salesman who sells a policy to his best friend Steve Harper (Robert Cummings). Harper will be able to collect $1,000,000 if he fails to marry his fiancée Cynthia Merrick (Nancy Kelly). The policy is co-signed by Roscoe (William Frawley), a hard-core gambling house owner, who is stressed when Harper heads to a Caribbean island to pick up Mickey Fitzgerald (Peggy Moran).
