According to the proven formula, but fun, very fun. The jokes and antics are often hilarious, the setting (an isolated hotel near the caves) is atmospheric and the cast is strong. One of the best of the boys.

Another very entertaining film from Abbott & Costello. Personally, I think Meet Frankenstein is a little bit better, but they are also on a roll here.
Boris Karloff is a nice addition, but it is strange that he does not appear to be the killer.
Lenore Aubert when she tries to seduce Costello, what man wouldn't fall for her wearing those clothes? Just wow!

The first film I saw of this comedy duo.

The original script "Easy Does It" was originally intended as a vehicle for Bob Hope. After the success of Bud Abbott Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein, Universal-International wanted to make another horror comedy with Abbott and Costello. Interestingly, the role of Boris Karloff was originally written for a female character named Madame Switzer. Karloff was hired more than five days before filming, and the character was changed to a swami. Although the title suggests that Karloff is the murderer, this was just a publicity stunt to attract full cinemas. Towards the end, Alan Mowbray's character turns out to be the perpetrator. The film was banned in Denmark because of the card scene with the two corpses. After filming was completed, Lou Costello suffered a relapse of his rheumatic fever. As a result, he was bedridden for several months, and the duo appeared a year later in Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion. Abbott and Costello meet the Killer, Boris Karloff was the only Hollywood film with three actors' names in the title.

A fun slapstick comedy with a light-hearted role by Boris Karloff. Definitely not my last Abbott and Costello film.
