"Gamera for the boys, the boys for Gamera!"
When Toru is playing on the beach, he discovers a strange red glow behind a rock. When he goes to take a look, he sees that the red glow comes from an egg, from which a baby turtle emerges when he takes the egg in his hands. He takes the turtle home and decides to keep its possession a secret. Keeping the turtle he's named Toto a secret doesn't get any easier when Toto grows abnormally fast, shooting small fireballs from his mouth. Toru finds out that Toto is actually Gamera's son.
