Kicks plot
In Kicks, the young supermarket worker and rapper Redouan gets inspiration in the middle of the night. He calls a friend with the plan to immediately use this flow and start rapping. The decision to leave his bed at night has major consequences, when a little later he is fatally struck by a police bullet. Agent Frank firing the shot keeps it to a storm: it was never his intention to kill him. A number of Moroccan Dutch see it as a clear case of racism, while most native Dutch are inclined to believe Frank. On the dividing line between black and white are two young Moroccan Dutchmen: Redouan's brother Said (Mimoun Oaissa), one who lives with a Dutch girl (Chantal Janzen) and is a popular kickboxer for white and black, and Aaliyah (Maryam Hassouni), a police officer in training. and witnessed the shooting. They are torn by the dilemmas they face. Both threaten to become a plaything for the highly flared emotions of both Moroccan and native Dutch people.
