You can call it a disease or an anomaly, but Antoine only exists one day out of every two. Every other day, at the stroke of midnight, it disappears to return the next day at the same time and place. There is no cloud of smoke or blinding flash. He's just not there for 24 hours. Antoine has adapted to this extraordinary situation.
