Well, this is just a tasteless Christmas movie. Divorced father transforms into Santa Claus. At first, of course, this leads to a lot of disbelief, except for his son. He thinks it's all too cool that Santa Claus does exist and that his father has that role. We always have to wait and see how irritating the role of such a bastard is, but that was still somewhat limited. Anyway, it is still a dull happening and on the sweet side. It certainly could have been worse, but I didn't think this was a great Christmas movie.

Well okay.

Typical Eem film (as you can guess) that only really works around the Christmas period. So not outside of that so you should not watch it outside the period. Tim Allen is clearly well cast and the story is actually quite original.

But you won't get there with only an original story, although the acting was still nice, the humor was not exactly comical. Everyone is in their element, but the film seems to last longer than 97 minutes. The film is also only for children, it seems.

There is no lack of fun, but of humor. Original story, decent acting. This is a successful Christmas movie.

Horrible.

Seems inspired by Miracle on 34th Street, though there's no real comparison. What surprised me most about this Disney is that it looks so cheap. Still a '94 movie, a year after Jurassic Park, but it looks like it was shot on someone's home computer.

The computer graphics are really bad to look at, the animatronics aren't much better actually. It gives the film a very cheap look, not exactly conducive to a Christmas movie. You also have to deal with a poorly cast Tim Allen and a huge cunt child who irritates the entire film.

The story is also not much, but it is mainly the Christmas atmosphere that is completely missing in this film. Apparently quite a few 80s/90s films that tried to modernize Christmas, rarely succeeded in fact. It is known as a real Christmas classic, but couldn't really figure out why while watching it.

1.0*
