Little Lord Fauntleroy plot
Cedric Fauntleroy grows up in New York City in dire circumstances. His late father was the son of the Earl of Dorincourt, but the old Earl never acknowledged his son's marriage to Cedric's mother, thinking she was only after the family fortune. Still, when the Earl learns of Cedric's and his mother's poverty, he realizes that his grandson will be the heir to his earldom, and has him brought back to England from America. But then another boy knocks and claims to be the only rightful heir.
