Failure to Launch plot

"To leave the nest, some men just need a little push."

Tripp, 35, is not exactly a loser. Yet he still lives with his parents. He always had a reason to hang out with Mom and Dad. Unfortunately, his parents have had enough of him now, but they can't get their son to live on his own. They decide to hire the attractive and successful Paula, who guarantees that she can make Tripp "independent" before too long.

Same, as always...

It's light, but it sure is junk. Film is doable because of the story, and because there is also some humor in it, but chemistry is totally missing between our two main characters. We mostly laughed because of our Paula's girlfriend, we watch (I oblige, secretly I like it) ''New Girl'' or something like that, on Tuesday night, and she's really funny and dry. Exactly our humour. The don't-care look came out well. That's why he gets the points.

Nothing really special, just a Friday night movie. Or whenever it was on TV. Very important, haha.

Great movie, never bored. Kathy Bates is always a plus, great actress is. The rest of the cast does a great job, too.

I think my average mark for similar films is 3.0*, this one deserves an extra 0.5* for the nicely written ending, finally not the usual and usual. I'm referring to the part where they are locked up. Also nice that it doesn't end with some marriage, just closed with an important aspect from the film. Of course it is it's not hard to guess how it will all end, but I thought it was that piece originally written.

Reasonable film about a 35-year-old man who still lives with his parents, and they would rather see him leave. A somewhat original setup for an otherwise predictable romcom. Admittedly the humor is a bit bland here and there, but on the other hand there are some entertaining scenes (especially with the parents together). A narrow 3.0 stars.
