So Wonder Woman. Not necessarily a good film, but an entertaining one for almost the full running time. This is mainly due to the wonderful chemistry between Pine and Gadot and also the wonderful naivety that Gadot perfectly and humorously portrays. Truly a character to love. Also some nice scenes, especially around the trenches and in that village when people are dancing for a while. Touching almost. The beginning is a bit boring because the pacing is not optimal, but vice versa also because it is quite rushed without you really getting into that world. Things get a lot better after that, but the film misses a strong start.

Anyway, this is one of those films that never rises above mediocrity and makes you wonder why it doesn't do its best. Ultimately, this is a straightforward story with hardly any special action. Also typical is that some non-English is spoken in certain areas, but why don't Germans speak German among themselves, why don't the Amazons speak Ancient Greek instead of English with the Gadot accent? That would have given the film much more authenticity. It's also a shame about the end with that scene that seems unnecessary and also doesn't fit with the rest at all in terms of style. Suddenly it seems as if Snyder has taken over the direction there, just as his influence can be seen everywhere with the many slow-mos. 3.0*.

Very moderate.

Indeed, a film that was completely promoted at the time. Wonder Woman as one of the few current female superheroes. And of course a playing time of 141 minutes has to be added while the story does nothing special.

Gadot is very mediocre. During the 2018 Oscars, I saw that she was very popular among colleagues and liked to put herself in front of the camera, but that ego can take a dent. Weak role of an actress who apparently had so much trouble with the fight scenes that her movements had to be edited with CGI.

For the rest, those accents are also pretty dull. The first half hour is to cry. We are faced with a lot of useless characters that actually come and go. Wright also comes along, but he has already proven to me a few times that acting is not her strongest subject.

Movie also looks ugly sometimes. Especially Gadot's fight scenes are lousy. Even a child can see it. But the use of the green screen is also too striking. Towards the end, the action does get a bit more grip, the front scene was ok and the finale was spectacular.

Humor often simply doesn't work. The jokes are dull and bland. Towards the end there are again those forced "messages" and they are much more comical. It's a shame that this movie got so much attention while the content really doesn't impress.

Gadot was also an abysmal choice in general. Then strike someone who does not radiate such a clumsy figure but who is also really energetic, can act and has no ego to the moon and back.
