"The only picture with a DINGLE!"

World War II is in full swing. But the front is not in Europe or in the Pacific, but in Washington DC. And the battle is about finding housing in the crowded capital. Government official Constance (Jean Arthur) rents half of her apartment to industrialist Benjamin Dingle (Charles Coburn), who in turn rents half of his half to aircraft mechanic Joe Carter (Joel McCrea).
