When a dangerous virus breaks out, the world turns into an anarchic and chaotic place. Architect John Custance and his family make the journey from London to the countryside (in the north of England) where John's brother has a farm. Here they hope to find food and a safe place to live. Along the way, they encounter enemy soldiers and biker gangs, as well as people who join them.
