Idaho Transfer plot

"The future is a great place to visit....."

A team of young researchers escapes to the future to avoid their project being shut down. They discover that a disaster has infected the population around their lab, the whole country, maybe even the whole world. Stranded in the future, they come across an abandoned freight train, presumably full of dead bodies. One of them goes even further into the future and encounters a family in a futuristic car who claim that humanity has recovered from the disaster.
