Average slasher.
Taken down by a bunch of crazy youngsters, part is saved by some nice visuals.
American motherfuckers are the slasher's worst enemy. Nasty people who can get pretty bored following a movie like this. The bad guy himself is not that bad at first, but once a bit more in the picture he loses some of his strength. Perhaps also because he is rather easy to fend off. There is therefore no longer much threat halfway through the film.
Visually successful. Often beautiful settings, fine use of color and some visual fiddling in between. Yet it is not really special anymore and the style is also just gathered from other films, so the film is not saved after all.
As a snack it's not too bad, it's a shame that some of the genre clichés always turn out to be clinchers. Fortunately, the film doesn't last too long and it doesn't get boring either, but that's about it.

A slasher with voodoo elements set in the swamps of Louisiana. Expect gory massacres, a terrifying killer, a dash of black magic and atmospheric landscapes. And of course also screaming teenagers 
. Of course you won't miss anything if you let this print pass you by, but Venom is still better than many other slashers.
