In February 1952, the east coast of New England is hit by one of the worst storms in history. It literally causes an oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod to break in two. Four members of the Coast Guard brave the cold temperatures and 20-meter waves in a small lifeboat in search of more than 30 stranded sailors trapped aboard the fast-sinking ship.

Very mediocre film that never wants to be spectacular and relies too much on clichéd drama developments, especially with regard to the girlfriend on land. There are some very weak scenes, for example when she beach with her car (perhaps in reverse?). Very clumsy. Also that the storm always subsides during, often dramatic, dialogues.
Furthermore, the scenes at sea are fake and overloaded with special effects; an average episode of Deadliest Catch is a lot more spectacular! Bana is a very mediocre actor and Pine can't carry the film.
