I think that Netflix has been going downhill in recent years with less and less good recent films and more series, especially from non-English speaking countries and documentaries that you can also find on YouTube. Or they have to be their own releases. And if a movie comes on you will also see it on TV the same evening, although with commercials in between

That's why I didn't expect much from this Fear with a young Wahlberg and a Mister CSI that I had never seen in a movie.

I have to say that it was quite enjoyable although the storyline was far from original.

The movie started quite slowly, little or nothing happened, it seemed more like a family movie with problems around a teenage daughter. You just felt some tension around the arrogant, aggressive boyfriend. It wasn't until the last half hour that the film became more interesting and the tension was good.

Nice role for Wahlberg, who manages to arouse quite a sense of threat. Also a good scene in the roller coaster, which is both visually interesting and has an erotic vibe. But otherwise the film doesn't feel very special, especially because the course is pretty much like the book. What is interesting is the zeitgeist of the film, in which father also acts like an alpha male who has to protect the females in his herd from other men. That doesn't seem possible to me these days. 1.5*.
