Two sheriffs have been murdered in the middle of a forest. Young Gustav is on the run with Ekstrøm, a Swede who lives in the Norwegian forests. Fleeing along the river, they are chased by the authorities. Gustav regrets going with Ekstrøm, but he saw it as a tempting adventure. However, he could not have imagined the end of this adventure.
