84 Charing Cross Road plot
"A big love affair that began in a little bookstore at 84 Charing Cross Road."
Bibliophile Helene Hanff cannot fulfill her need for books, decent British literature is not available or affordable. That is why she writes to a modern London antiquarian bookshop and turns out to succeed very cheaply. With every new order she gives personal comments on the books read. There is a kind of correspondence with the order and a romance.

Film about friendship.
A bit sentimental (towards the end) but heart-warming and how wonderful it is to let Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins speak.
Typical British flair style, simple and natural, while also recalling some appropriate historical passages, such as rationing.
