India, circa 1875. The beautiful widow Marjorie Scarlett is ambushed and seriously injured. On her instructions, Lieutenant Millington is arrested as a suspect. His lawyer, Lieutenant Drake, does not have an easy time, because the jury chairman has already made his decision and Drake is pressured by two majors.
