I read from many that part 1 is much better... Then I really have to watch the first part, because I also thought the second part was quite good.

I am a fan of zombie movies, so maybe that gives me an advantage over other viewers of this movie. The story is never really great in a zombie movie, so not in House of the Dead 2 either. I don't think the description here on MovieMeter is really correct, it's clearly about a university that has been infected?

The action scenes are nice, although they are less spectacular than in other zombie films (think of the Resident Evil series). Also visually (in terms of effects etc.) this film scores a bit less than other films in this genre. It all sounds quite negative, but I still enjoyed watching this film. The film starts off well and is never boring.

Nice to have seen it once.

This film is essentially separate from Boll's film and has more budget. It all looks less crappy. The whole so bad it's good-factor is gone. What remains is a nice film with some nice action, but otherwise very mediocre. It reminded me a lot of parts four and five of Return of the Living Dead. Nothing special then. The zombies, here called hyper sapiens, are waving their arms like madmen and are quite embarrassing to watch.

All in all, an acceptable zombie movie for fans of the genre.

From cannibals to zombies is not a very big step, but unfortunately it did not get better where I was already very disappointed by Cannibal Apocalypse. That I had taken this House of the Dead with me at the thrift store is still the constant hunt for Zombie films and because the beautiful Emmanuelle Vaugier was in it. But this was not a success either.

The beginning is initially given the benefit of the doubt with the students and even Sid Haig, it is immediately clear that it is not going to be serious and is heading in the direction of Zombiestrippers from 2008 with all those bare tits, and where that one did not score well, this one turned out to be even worse. What it is with such films, but you see it in everything, everything is just bad and low key in such a film and exudes a certain cheapness, it does not look good. There is one thing that cannot be complained about and that is a lot of tits and quite pretty ladies in the form of Vaugier, Ellie Cornell, Nadine Velasquez and especially the spicy Victoria Pratt.

But besides that it lifts from the bad moments, insanely stupid stuff, from those typical do's and don'ts with the emphasis on the last and it is just bad, bad and bad again. That the zombies look quite okay does not matter much and so this House of the Dead 2 turns out to be a bad zombie movie that mainly remains bad where a bad zombie movie can sometimes still be quite entertaining. Anyway, done with it and quickly on to the next movie.
