Estamira plot

"Everything that is imaginary has, exists and is"

Estamira is 63 years old and suffers from schizophrenia. For twenty years she survives by foraging around the garbage dump of Jardim Gramacho near Rio de Janeiro. Marcos Prado followed her in this moving documentary from 2000, the year in which she started treatment in a psychiatric clinic. Gradually its history becomes clear. Despite or because of her delusions, she is a charismatic personality with very philosophical ideas about God and life.
