DJay is a little pimp from Memphis who makes frantic efforts to start a career as a rapper. He tries to get his debut album on the market, with the help of his friends from the 'hood'. Although this kind of music doesn't really appeal to me, I still think this is a pleasant film: a good story and a good cast.

Terrence Howard has shown that he can act well before, but I was very surprised by Taraji P. Henson's acting in a supporting role as his pregnant girlfriend Shug.
