Although it is daring to make a film in this way.

And it remains quite beautiful and fascinating for a small hour.

Will the effect stop you at some point?

So be brave to try something new.'

With a fantastic cast.

the final result is not what Richard Linklater had in mind.

Or, anyway, not enough.

Mediocre.

The fact that I don't understand the movie because of my score is one of the biggest bullshit quotes I've heard and seems to be more of a "I like the movie, so you like it" swipe. That's not how it works, and I don't like the result either.

Of course it's a bizarre choice to make your film like this, although I doubt whether I find the animation disgusting or very beautiful. On the one hand, there are sometimes beautiful, almost hypnotic images that draw you well into the film, but it is also sometimes very ugly. Especially when the characters start to walk, it's a bit obvious.

The story is simply boring, I totally got it, but it wasn't captivating. Seldom have 100 minutes passed so slowly. The headlines are recognisably animated, but whether they are so convincing, not really.

At a certain point, the animation even distracts from the story itself, which is not a good sign and you sometimes lose the thread. It only got a bit more intriguing towards the end, but everything before that isn't too interesting.

Too bad, they should have put less difficult moments in this and some more accessible images. This was a bit of a disappointment in hindsight.
