Pyaasa plot

Vijay is a poet and would like to be famous and successful with his poetry. A prostitute reads the poems and uses her influence to get his poems published. But this happens as the posthumous work of a mysterious drifter also named Vijay. The poet feels compelled to pretend that he was a good friend of the bum.
