The Hollow plot

"You cannot kill it, you can only survive it"

Three sisters leave their native village in a hurry. The youngest sister was traumatized when she saw her parents die up close, so they decide to rebuild their lives elsewhere. For so long, the sisters are welcome with their aunt. What they don't know, however, is that the island where their aunt lives is the scene of a horrific massacre once every hundred years.

A very good Wilson indeed, probably his best. Reminded me a bit of Scarecrow, partly because of the remarkably fast pace (actually it was put together in half an hour, with many events that usually take a long time to happen, and then it has to keep going for another hour) and the details in the CGI creature. The level is a bit higher here - visually a lot neater, fairly high-end for this type of production - and it doesn't really slacken anywhere, although it of course follows all the expected paths.

I thought Scarecrow was better. The movie also reminded me of another movie...don't think of it anymore...but the CGI creature looked like a tree or something like that. I liked it less. This one is right in between. Not bad, but it didn't surprise me anymore. I also found the acting here mediocre, even a bit irritating at times (the youngest sister). 6/10

Any possibility of any tension is immediately removed in this film because you see the monster from the beginning. Moreover, it doesn't look good, what bad CGI!

The makers of this low-budget film (that's what it looks like anyway) wisely denied themselves the opportunity to make a sequel because, according to legend, the monster only shows up every hundred years.
