Encouraged by her manager, nightclub artist Kiki takes a leopard on stage to get more publicity. However, her rival is jealous and scares the beast so much that he flees. Mediocre film in which an escaped leopard manages to kill a number of women in a town. A simple plot for this short film that lacks some focus. Especially a bit on the boring side. Here and there atmospheric (especially the scenes in which the attack is suggested). But overall it didn't really interest me.

This film relies on a handful of fairly strong scenes, taking the time to build suspense, namely the murders and the search for the killer at the end of the film. Also well filmed by the way. There is little wrong with that and the film does well. Unfortunately, the film does have more scenes and they consist of mediocre posturing between characters that are not very interesting, so you have to struggle through it much more difficult. Fortunately, the film does not last that long and we can speak of a manageable snack.

The title is reminiscent of The Wolf Man (1941) and is by the same director of Cat People (1942) (which used the same panther, by the way). But The Leopard Man is above all a mysterious thriller. With the necessary atmosphere and fascinating direction. Director William Friedkin is said to have said that The Leopard Man had an influence on Psycho and Pulp Fiction, for example, because it shifted the focus to different main characters each time. There is something to be said.
The short duration ensures that it never gets boring and the atmosphere is quite good in this film. Enough time is taken and the mystery works. Better than you would expect.
