So that was quite a session this morning.

Nearly 4 hour Bible epic.

The good news: Those four hours go by pretty smoothly—the movie never gets long-winded or tedious.

On the other hand, it doesn't have the absolute top level of a Gone With The Wind or a Ben-Hur.

Nice to have seen, but a rewatch is not so 1-2-3.

Highlight: The Red Sea Scene!

This indestructible classic looks great in the digitally restored Blu-ray version. The grand sets and colorful costumes splash off the screen. The plot unfolds rather long-winded and the acting is very theatrical, but the film still captivates despite its enormous length. There are few dull moments and the spectacle still manages to impress. Of course, many special effects are now quite dated and sporadically to the point of laughing, but for the most part they are used effectively. And the splitting of the Red Sea still looks spectacular.
