Nice plot approach: four so-called astronauts are sent on a simulated mission to a distant planet to test the psychological effects of long space travel. Of course, after a while, everything goes wrong, which applies to both the events shown and the quality of the film. The script is shaky on all sides and visually there is little to experience. The actors are not that bad, but the low budget and the poor qualities of the filmmakers start to break the film down considerably at some point. And then you finally have an ending that you can do nothing with.

I let the description put me on the wrong track

In itself quite impressive how a reasonably exciting film has been spun out with an obviously low budget. But it is also very visible, with the dollhouse-like interior of the fake spaceship in the foreground. And the story really rattles here and there too much, culminating in the just too much unexplained goings-on at the end , for example that the people in the remaining village are suspiciously familiar to the fake astronauts. And not that everything has to be chewed up, but the ending does leave a lot open.

On the positive side, I thought the unknown cast did a pretty good job, and the running time was short enough and the story just exciting enough that I didn't have to greet the credits with applause.

400 Days is a film that is characterized by the genres mystery, sci-fi and thriller, but to be honest it also has some horror elements. As a non-fan of horror I wasn't very happy about that. Still I found the film interesting, because it plays a lot with psychological effects. Are they paranoid, is it simulation or is something else going on? The main reason I went to see the film were actors Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz and also Tom Cavanagh in a supporting role. So I found the films interesting, except for those horror elements. But I was waiting for a fantastic denouement that would make everything clear, but unfortunately this is a film that mainly works for the eternal philosophers and it is a film where the ending is left to your own interpretation. Well, and I really don't like that. All in all I don't really know what I saw and I don't understand what the point of this film was. The film left me unsatisfied while I think they could have gotten more out of it and the beginning of the film offered an interesting concept. Based on this description I think you can determine very well whether or not the film is for you.
