"She's not ready to act her age"

Doris Miller (Sally Field) is a woman in her mid-60s. After a lifetime of being skipped and ignored, Doris's world is turned upside down after her mother dies, who she has lived with all her life. One day, when she attends a self-development convention, a positivity guru encourages her to seize the opportunity for love. She has a crush on a much younger handsome colleague named John (Max Greenfield), the new art director of the company where she has worked for years. Doris immediately likes John and it doesn't take long before she tries everything to court him.

What is the antonym of a feel-good movie? Hello, My name is Doris!

What an incredible drama with embarrassing moments. Not fun, but just pathetic. It even disgusted me at times.

I really enjoyed this. I think it's a really nice story, well acted, and has interesting characters. It's not very profound, but I wasn't in the mood for that at the time. I wanted to see something fun and lighthearted, and in that regard, this film was a good choice for me. I got completely into it, and that hour and a half flew by. I laughed at the humor. I'm glad I saw this one. A 9. 4.5*

Inspired by a lecture by a motivational speaker [Peter Gallagher], 60-year-old daydreamer Doris [Sally Field] takes the plunge. With the help of the granddaughter [Wendi McLendon-Covey] of colleague and best friend Roz [Tyne Daly], Doris uses a fake Facebook account to discover the interests of John [Max Greenfield], her attractive but much younger new colleague. This lighthearted trifle would have been negligible without Field's charming performance and the fine counterplay of Daly as her outspoken friend.
