Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hepburn, the "dellery" Jean Hagen and the unforgettable Judy Holliday in one movie; then not much can go wrong. Certainly not when the screenwriters come up with a script that is a succession of razor-sharp dialogues. Then director Cukor only has to register instead of directing.

A wonderful, timeless film. Unfortunately, these kind of costly comedies are no longer made, but we may not have the right actors and actresses for that nowadays. Too bad, very sorry.

Initially very smooth and witty conversations, but gradually it becomes a bit more monotonous and spirituality has to make way for burlesque now and then. Actually a rather sparkling comedy about ..... nonsense, because here equal opportunities for women and men should not be treated, but at a much higher level and outside the family. The ending of the film is sentimental and exactly "to get rid of it". Appreciated then, dated now.

The film has something very special, not so much for the film itself, but for lovers of pop and crooner music from past years.

In 2002 a wonderful CD collection album was released with everything singer Frank Sinatra had ever sung as a soundtrack for a movie, whether he was in the movie or not.

The compilers forgot one.

The missing number is in this "Adam's Rib". At a certain point, Katharine Hepburn puts on a record and you hear Sinatra sing a part of "Farewell Amanda", a song he never recorded.

Couldn't resist mentioning this.

Good film in which man and woman face each other as lawyers in a court case. An excellent set-up about the battle of the sexes, but the substantive elaboration of this is somewhat simple. Well constructed scenes with smooth dialogues. Together with the wonderful duo Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, this makes for an entertaining film.
