In a small Arizona town, young Scott works as a street sweeper who can't wait to flee the town to show everyone his true worth. An elderly veteran cowboy, Talby, arrives in town and takes Scott under his wing. He teaches him all the tricks of being a cowboy and soon Scott is as agile as his master. Talby and some friends take over the city and shoot the old sheriff in the process. However, the sheriff was a good friend of Scott who decides to take revenge on his teacher.

Fortunately a lot better than the previous western I saw (Cemetery without Crosses). The image of Day of Anger is also a lot better. Unfortunately, I didn't find the mono sound too good. I thought the soundtrack sounded nice (music was fine) but the dialogues were rather unbalanced.
Anyway, I really enjoyed watching the movie. Just can't imagine if you don't hit a turd you can suddenly become an excellent shooter. Okay he practiced with wooden pistols but still. By the way, thought that Giuliano Gemma played terribly with his Prodent teeth. Phew. The good man passed away in 2016 in a traffic accident. But the beginning was not too well acted. Fortunately, Lee van Cleef picks up a lot, although I didn't really understand the collaboration with Scott. What I find a bit unfortunate about MovieMeter is the text above. The film is not about the teacher's revenge at all. This only takes place 10 minutes before the end of the movie. For that he is just his companion.
Rather, it is about a stranger who quickly teaches a street sweeper some lessons in shooting. This is going so fast that we soon see a two unity. All this is extremely entertaining, but gradually gets nasty features. That becomes apparent in the end when things go too far. As said, the music does well and this is one of the better westerns from the 1960s. It's just a pity about the bad sound.

Nice.
It's been a while since I last saw a spaghetti western. Day of Anger manages to use some typical spaghetti elements well: great credits, nice setting with those typical towns, nice music and good camera work with some nice wide shots and close-ups.
Unfortunately, the directing isn't very good. Certainly in the last half hour, quite a few turns are taken to play teacher and student off against each other. Some transitions therefore feel abrupt. The acting is also not really to get excited about - the stage content is high, especially if a dub is added on top of that. Only the ever charismatic Lee Van Cleef can impress, but of course he has the ideal head for that. Dope actor.
So all in all definitely worth it, but there was a little more potential in it than it shows.

A spaghetti western with Lee Van Cleef. The style is good and luckily Lee Van Cleef makes up for a lot. There are much better films in this genre, but those who like this kind of western will certainly enjoy this one. The old experienced hand and the young unleashed guy who still has a lot to learn. In a village where the law is applied when it suits. Sometimes it shouldn't be anymore.
