"What would you do for a second chance at your first love?"
Louise Harrington (Laura Linney), an intelligent divorcee in her thirties, teaches at Columbia University's School of Fine Arts. One day she receives the application of a young new student with painting ambitions on her desk and decides to interview the young man herself. When F. Scott Feinstadt (Topher Grace) enters, Louise sees that the young man looks just like her high school boyfriend and one true love, a young artist who died in a car accident twenty years earlier. It doesn't take long for Louise and F. Scott to plunge into a passionate and boundless relationship. But is F. Scott really just a memory of her lost love? Or is Scott trying to secure a place at the school through this affair?
