'' BASTARD! BASTARD! BASTARD! ''

Mwoah. I really liked the kills, the atmosphere and soundtrack a little less. Acting is of course to curl your toes ( :') )

The typical swelling music that predicts that something will happen is frequently present. Fortunately, the characters were annoying and it was therefore even more fun to play Mr. Killer busy. By the way, I sometimes had to laugh at the facial expressions of mainly the actresses. So heavily over the top, kind of like I do when I teach drama to my students.

Bad humour, disastrous acting, gory murders, highly illogical actions and even some nudity in the picture here and there. Fine for an 80's slasher right? Although, I couldn't stand the annoying circus music anymore, talk about bad.

All in all reasonable, it mainly has to do with the kills and the fact that you hope that they all fall prey. That tennis scene really hit everything indeed.

Mediocre.

In the revision after about 30 years. Then on a VHS from the local video store, nowadays in formidable quality on VOD. This movie is so deliciously wrong, this is really such a video store 80s classic. It didn't count for Oscars and Golden Lions, blood, body parts, chainsaws, sawing half naked girls to pieces. Still very (un)fresh after all these years.

It's pretty heavy about it. Which makes me wonder whether the director is serious or whether he is giving a big wink. Of course they would like to surpass other films, so it will soon be over. The ending is hilarious...but in a tongue in cheek slasher that's welcome.

Famous gore and good atmosphere thanks to a fine electro soundtrack. But it's not that the suspense is pushed to the limit. Rather, it is a purely bloody affair. There is no development of the characters, so empathy with the victims is clearly not a priority for the makers. It's all entertaining (if you like it).
