Like a screwball comedy that is actually never funny because it is so ridiculously overblown.

So wrong that it became right!

Familiar faces make an appearance. (Including David Hasselhoff in a brief cameo). If all the risqué content in the film were removed, just under 10 minutes remained. This was initially a reason for Suzanne Shepherd to refuse the role of Big Ethel. After a meeting with John Waters, she eventually agreed. The role of Vaughn Stickles was initially to be played by Paul Giamatti, but he subsequently opted for Sideways (2004).

Humor that appeals to you or that you find terrible. Personally, there were some funny moments, but I can't say that I was rolling on the floor laughing the whole time.

2.5 *

Yeah, this movie is really top-notch. It challenged sacred cows and exudes a great 'fuck you' attitude towards all the conservative, whiny, bourgeois types. Delightfully absurd, a true Waters. Unfortunately, it seems to have been his last as well. It's a shame, really, but judging by the comments above, people just don't understand these kinds of films anymore. Can't we just have a bit of fun on a minimal budget?
