During the arrest of gangster boss Losado, the partner of police officer Eddie Jilette (Richard Gere) is killed. Determined to take revenge, Jilette kidnaps the stunning Michel Duval (Kim Basinger), the mistress of Losado (Jeroen Krabbé). A life and death struggle ensues when Jilette falls for Duvall's charms and a sadistic Losado does everything he can to get her back.

Fairly simple predictable story of good and bad in which Gere and Crabbé are the viewer's magnets as opposites. Even if they don't play great.
The beautiful Kim Basinger plays substandard naive.
Exciting and long-winded moments, such as the water event and the plot, and special trucks to keep the fireworks warm.
But various directorial errors make it completely unrealistic.
Overall, a well worth seeing relaxing film.
2.5 seems more than enough to me.

Mediocre film about a cop who seeks revenge when his partner is murdered. Far from original and all pretty standard. It all starts off well, but as the film progresses, the whole thing sinks in. The romance between Richard Gere and Kim Basinger does not come across well and the bold role of Jeroen Krabbé is also just as fun.
