Two boring and unsuccessful scientists decide to test their homemade love potion number 8. But not on each other. Diane Farrow (Bullock) hooks up with an English prince, Paul Matthews (Donovan) is having a great time in a house full of students. But for the good ending, drink 9 must be involved.

Funny, light-hearted comedy that was fun to watch. Tate Donovan and especially Bullock (with those glasses :')) do an excellent job here. There were also some pretty fun scenes. I also noticed that Anne Bancroft was in it. Just a great comedy, so a 3.5.

Pretty well.
And I mean that in a positive sense, for a change - a pleasant feel-good film to just sit and watch mindlessly. Bullock is very charming - maybe not the prettiest, but that drink certainly seems to do something. The metamorphosis at the beginning is also quite funny, although it is a bit over the top - with Tate Donovan it is a bit more subtle. He also plays quite nicely, by the way.
Narratively, it is of course a weakness in itself - just like with time travel, superheroes and the like, you can explain everything with it.
