Shin Heike Monogatari plot

At the end of the 12th century, several wars were fought for power in Japan. Taira Kiyomori fights with his Taira clan against the Minamoto clan. After the victory, he becomes discredited because of his blood tie and a new battle erupts with the emperor and Buddhist monks among others joining the power struggle.
