Movie night with the kids yesterday. Beethoven is an ideal snack for this. Nostalgic family film actually with a limited expiration date, but if you empathize with a child's world of thinking, that's more than ok.

The script, like all those other family movies with animals, rattles from all sides, but it remains entertaining and also quite funny. Sweet too. The cast is fairly well known, especially for such a film. You may have already seen Bonnie Hunt in other productions such as Jumanji or the slightly more serious work in The Green Mile or Rain Man. And Stanley Tucci is a delicious crook! It's also nice that there is a dark side to the film, but don't worry, everything will be fine in the end!

Beethoven himself is at times over the top as a super dog that can understand and even fathom people. Every family member has his issues that he tries to deal with in his own way. Much worse has come on the market in the genre. That's why a small enough!

At least 20 years since I last saw this movie, but I could still remember certain scenes and lines. As for the actors, I remember that the eldest daughter is also in the series The Nanny, and the youngest one I recently saw in Kinderkarten Cop, but only now do I realize that a number of well-known actors have played in it, such as Stanley Tucci and David Duchovny. Not that they are very remarkable roles, by the way.

The film is named after the dog, but an equally important role is for the father, who struggles with the idea of a dog in the house, taking all the clichés about how annoying a dog can be from the stable, but gradually from the beast. is going to keep. I can put myself in his shoes well: I'm not a fan of dogs either.

The film is clearly aimed at children, because the plot is very simplistic. The dog helps the family in every way: with dating, against bullies and scammers, and even saves the youngest daughter because he apparently sensed from tens of meters away that something was going wrong. And apparently it's easier for the antagonist to cumbersomely steal a dog than just buy or adopt one.

It is all very far-fetched and in terms of humor there are plenty of children's films that appeal to adults better. In the end, youth sentiment saves the film from the lowest rating. 1*

It's been a long time since we've watched it again, so it's high time to watch it again. Still an entertaining film with a well-known cast. The story was fun and not boring. The playing time was also good, not too long and not too short.

The film is still worth watching after so many years.
