As parcivalis already notes, it is scandalous to see how a Hollywood scenario manages to rape a beautiful story like the Diamond Necklace Affair. Mdm de la Motte-Valois was not only a con artist but also a common whore. Definitely not a courtesan, let alone a heroine you should feel sympathy for.
