The Blues Brothers plot
"They're on a mission from God."
When Jake Blues is released from prison, he and his brother Elwood visit the orphanage where they were raised. Sister Maria Stigmata tells them that the institution is in need of money. The two brothers want to help her, but she doesn't want their stolen money. The elderly caretaker Curtis, who raised them and instilled in them a love for music, encourages them to go to church more often. They meet Rev. Jones, who gives a fiery sermon, followed by an enthusiastic gospel with the impressive church choir. While the churchgoers enthusiastically dance along, Jake has a divine inspiration: he will breathe new life into his former blues band.
