Aro Tolbukhin - En la Mente del Asesino plot
In 1981, Hungarian Aro Tolbukhin was arrested on suspicion of burning seven people alive at the Divino Redentor Mission in Guatemala. After his arrest, Tolbukhin confesses to the murder of five more women whose bodies he allegedly burned. During the interrogations, no fewer than seventeen subsequent murders come to light. All on pregnant women, for a period of fifteen years, while working as a traveling salesman. The ensuing judicial inquiry reveals a number of inconsistencies in the Hungarian's statements, and doubts about the confessions are mounting. Tolbukhin is nevertheless sentenced to death. Just before his execution, he is interviewed by a French documentary crew. Taking this material as a starting point, this film tries to form a picture of the man who was Tolbukhin and the reasons for his behavior.
