In Oranje plot
Remco is 12 years old. He is a talented and fanatic footballer with only one dream: to play in the Dutch national team. He even knows the text of the Wilhelmus by heart. His father Erik is just as fanatical in coaching Remco. He always knows everything better and always comments on everything. Remco's mother Sylvia is always sweet and ensures that her 'husbands' and daughter Suzan are not short of anything. When his father suddenly dies, Remco's world collapses. He doesn't even feel like playing football anymore. His Surinamese football friend Winston asks his grandmother for help. She knows a way to get in touch with Remco's deceased father. Then Remco gets injured. The doctor never allowed him to play football again, because his ankle ligaments have been stretched very much. Together with his girlfriend Anneke, he devises a plan to participate in the selection competition. Will he be able to realize his dream?

Reasonable film about a boy with a lot of football talent and big dreams, but who has to deal with the necessary adversity. In Oranje is mainly an exciting boys' book, and it is not realistic at all. But the dramatic plot developments are well presented and you can see Remco really struggling with the loss of his father (and injuries). This ensures that despite apparitions and other strange choices, In Oranje remains grounded.
