"From her LIPS — poison that bred MURDER!"

The streets of London are rocked by a series of murders of young women. Scotland Yard, however, faces a complete conundrum, with the only indication that each victim has a finger cut off. Hypnosis and severed fingers, neither of which are actually plot elements that really appeal to my imagination. Good acting, beautiful semi-psychedelic music and images during the hypnosis sessions of Hillary Brooke and a bizarre surgeon who dresses up girl dolls, but otherwise I think this is one of the lesser episodes. By the way, has anyone seen a green or even one described as green[/i] dress?
Fun fact from the IMDb trivia page: two things in the original script were censored – actually the victims were not young women but girls aged 8 or 9, and under hypnosis Dr Watson did not [spoiler ]he took off a shoe and a sock but dropped his pants. In the final film, however, something seems to have slipped through the cracks: when Lydia and Sir Fenwick take a seat on the couch in her apartment after about 9 minutes, you can see in some shots (particularly in medium two -shots) to the left of her head a shadow on the wall makes it clear what they are thinking about – a huge erection.

A lesser part in the series, despite the fact that a number of elements do provide some tension: the return of Moriarty, for example, and of course the hypnosis scenes. Holmes actually seems to be on the losing end at the end, not really of course, but it was more exciting than expected. Until that moment the film meanders a bit and I actually missed Lestrade's antics.

As a snack this afternoon, I'll spend some time with this not-too-long Sherlock Holmes, which is something that always fascinates and attracts me, because The Hound of the Baskerville is a real childhood sentiment for me and I read it in English in high school. But it turns out that not everything that is filled with sentiment, or to which the name Holmes is attached, is immediately very good.

Well, a mysterious murderer who hijacks the fingers of young ladies, Holmes will also go after a fraudster or shoplifter. Still, it takes some searching during the opening between Lady Lydia and Sir Fenwick within a film that is not long and where unnecessary dialogue does not belong in my opinion. But luckily the whole thing soon switches to mysterious matters, behavior and accusations. Of course, Holmes is involved in the case, there are the usual names with Watson and Moriarty, it is quite nicely put together and at some point it gets going quite well.

But the acting is often on the flat side, the ending is predictable, although the humor is still nice, and the whole thing is actually far from exciting. The Woman In Green can therefore best be described as reasonable and sufficient, but no more than that.
