The most entertaining 80s heavy metal/hard rock horror I've ever seen. The idea that this music is made and listened to by a bunch of devil worshippers is of course quite dated, but it still manages to provide great entertainment even today.

The effects are still surprisingly good and the soundtrack by rock band Fastway sets the mood perfectly.

The characters are indeed portrayed very stereotypically, but that only makes for more entertainment. In my opinion a very cool, underrated 80s horror that will do well with most fans of 80s pulp.

Very cute, this charmingly designed teenage horror film that is of course an absolute must for fans of the music genre in question. Director Charles Martin Smith certainly conjures up enough atmospheric images and bombastic scenes in the second half to prevent boredom, which means that the mediocre acting and underexposed concept do not become too tiring. In terms of horror scenes, Trick or Treat could easily have been significantly more brutal and unpredictable and Gene Simmons does little to inspire fear, but it certainly entertains extremely solidly around the cold days in October.
